Who this course is for

You hold an RPC Multirotor and want the category that covers corridor mapping and large-area surveying  — or you’re a new candidate who knows fixed-wing is where you’re headed.

Add-on candidates finish in one to two weeks. New candidates complete the full ground school alongside it.

What you’ll learn

How training runs

Theory runs in class at Waterfall City, online, or through the e-learning portal. Simulator stages run in the classroom. Flight training happens at Grasslands Flying Club. You advance when every exercise in the stage meets standard.

The internal examination pass mark is 75%, and the course closes with the skills test in the aeroplane category.

What you leave with

The RPC aeroplane category on your certificate — long-range mapping, surveying and specialist fixed-wing work, flown commercially.

  • SACAA-Accredited Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) — Aeroplane
  • Class 3 Aviation Medical
  • Course Completion Certificate
  • Restricted Radiotelephony Certificate (Restricted ROC)
  • English Language Proficiency Certificate

Adding the category to an existing RPC? You already hold the medical, radio certificate and ELP — you leave with the new category on your licence.
