Beyond Visual Line of Sight — operating a drone you can't physically see, flying on instruments and telemetry from the ground control station. BVLOS operations need a specific rating on top of the RPC.

What do I need before BVLOS training?

Three things: a valid RPC, a Class 3 aviation medical, and a current English Language Proficiency rating. We can arrange the ELP in-house if yours has lapsed.

Why is the training simulator-based?

Because BVLOS flying is instrument flying. The simulator reproduces the situations that matter — degraded C2 link, loss-of-link, airspace conflicts — repeatedly and safely, which real flight can't do.

Who this course is for

You hold a valid RPC and the contracts you want are beyond visual range: linear infrastructure, large-area survey, long-range security work.

You’ll need a Class 3 medical and a current ELP rating before the course starts.

Format

How training runs

Theory runs in class, online, or through the e-learning portal. The simulator stages run at Waterfall City, Midrand — BVLOS skills are instrument skills, and the flight simulation training device reproduces link loss and contingencies no real flight safely can. You advance when every exercise in the stage meets standard.

The internal examination pass mark is 75%, and the course closes with the skills test.
