Who this course is for

You’re the safety officer, accountable manager or owner of an aviation operation — RPAS or manned — and the SMS is your responsibility.

No prior qualification is needed. The course starts from the framework and ends at a working system.

Syllabus

What you’ll learn

Theory

A minimum of 20 hours of theory across five areas:

  • Safety Policy & Objectives
  • Hazard Identification
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation
  • Safety Assurance
  • Safety Promotion & Reporting Culture

The aim is a system that is real, working and audit-ready — not a binder on a shelf.

Format

How training runs

Theory runs in class at Waterfall City, online, or through the e-learning portal. The certificate is issued on passing the internal examination at 75%.

What you leave with

An SMS certificate — and the working knowledge to build and run the safety management system your operation is required to hold.
